The interplay between oral microbes and immune responses
نویسندگان
چکیده
Oral microbes play a critical role in maintaining oral homeostasis. Microbial dysbiosis promotes disease pathogenesis through several mechanisms. Recent studies have revealed that microbial imbalance and sustained inflammation are involved progression. The adverse interaction triggered by host immune response to microorganisms can lead systemic diseases. Here, we reviewed how communicate with hosts during the development of local distant inflammation. Elucidation these processes may reveal future directions this field potential targets novel biological therapies for

Immune Responses to Microbes
34 IMMUNE RESPONSES TO MICROBES Two important vaccine advances have been the development of nanoparticle-based vaccine formulations and the identification of unique microbial products that are agonists for immunologic receptors: virus-like particles (VLPs) or nanoparticles, and Toll-Like Receptor (TLR) agonists, respectively.1-3 The immune system continuously screens for and interacts with micr...
متن کاملInterplay between superantigens and the immune system.
Superantigens interact with the immune system by binding to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II proteins and activating T cells through the variable region of the T cell receptor beta-chain. Through this means they can cause massive proliferation and then death of a large proportion of T cells. Superantigens are produced by bacteria, mycoplasmas, retroviruses, and probably by other ...
متن کاملImmune Responses in Parkinson's Disease: Interplay between Central and Peripheral Immune Systems
The etiology of Parkinson's disease (PD) is complex and most likely involves numerous environmental and heritable risk factors. Recent studies establish that central and peripheral inflammation occurs in the prodromal stage of the disease and sustains disease progression. Aging, heritable risk factors, or environmental exposures may contribute to the initiation of central or peripheral inflamma...

متن کاملThe effect of oral consumption of shark cartilage on the cellular immune responses of cancer patients
Background: Shark cartilage is one of the complementary medicines for cancer patients that inhibits tumor progression by several mechanisms. There is not sufficient evidence on its effects on human immune system thereby we investigated its modulatory effects on some cellular immune response parameters in breast cancer patients. Material and methods: After preparation of shark cartilage powder ...
